On Sunday, two remaining matches of the 2nd round of the French football championship "Ligue 1" were played, in which the clubs "Lille" and "Marseille" won.

"Lille" hosted the "Lens" club on their field and convincingly won the match, leaving no hope for their opponent. The match ended with a crushing 4-0 victory for the hosts. Three goals were scored by the forward Peter Odemwingie, and one was added by Mathieu Bodmer. It is worth mentioning that from the 37th minute, "Lens" had to play with ten players, as Seydou Keita was sent off the field.

After this victory, "Lille" rose to the first place in the standings due to a better goal difference, surpassing the clubs "Nancy" and "Bordeaux", who also won two matches each.

In the other Sunday match, the teams of "Marseille" and "Rennes" faced each other. Marseille, who lost points in the first round, this time aimed for victory and proved their superiority over the weakened "Rennes" team. The first goal of the match was scored by the Marseille forward Mickael Pagis in the 38th minute, and Toifilou Maoulida doubled the score five minutes before the end of the match.
