R. Poška's goal was not enough for Zenit's victory in Russia © EuroFootball.com

During the weekend, the 15th round matches took place in the Russian championship, where favorites "CSKA" and "Spartak" both won with equal results. Another failure was experienced by the debutant Nalchik "Spartak", who recently led the league, and even the goal by R. Poškus, who returned to the main lineup of "Zenit", was not enough for victory against "Tom". Other Lithuanians also had a decent round - all those who are registered for matches played from the beginning of the game.

In the match in Tomsk, where St. Petersburg "Zenit" could not play without the attack leader Aleksandr Kerzhakov, the team's coach Dick Advocaat decided to slightly push back Andrei Arshavin and send the team's newcomer Fatih Tekke and the recovered R. Poškus to the attacking line. Although the match against "Tom" away started unsuccessfully for the "Zenit" footballers, as the hosts took the lead already in the 11th minute after Valery Klimov's goal, soon both "Piter" forwards started working.

In the 14th minute, the result was equalized by Turkish F. Tekke, and five minutes later, the guests broke ahead when R. Poškus scored his second goal of the season with a strong shot from 10 meters. In the halftime, "Tom" forward Pavel Pogrebnyak hit the crossbar, but at the very end of the match, he headed in a corner kick and equalized for the hosts.

For the fourth time in a row, Ramenskoye's "Saturn" defender Edgar Česnauskis was awarded a penalty kick - his club was trailing at home in the match against "Moscow" after Dimitri Polovinchuk scored in the 55th minute, but in the 70th minute, the Lithuanian defender brought the equalizer from the penalty spot and allowed the hosts to secure a draw with Aleksei Yaryomenko.

After a series of six wins, the Nalchik "Spartak" club has failed to win for the third consecutive match, recognizing the superiority of "Luch-Energia" in Vladivostok. This allowed Moscow's "Spartak" and "CSKA" clubs to secure the first and second positions, respectively, having won over "Krylya Sovetov" and "Dynamo" in beautiful and eventful matches.

Moscow's "Lokomotiv" climbed to the fourth place, which, just like the matches of the two leaders, was decided in the last minutes after the goals of the legionnaires in away games against the "Rostov" club. "Tom" and "Krylya Sovetov" did not take advantage of their stumbles without goals against Perm's "Amkar", and the match between Moscow's "Torpedo" and Yaroslavl's "Shinnik" ended in a draw.
