Two more matches were played in the English Premier League. The clear favorites claimed easy victories - "Man Utd" crushed "Fulham", while "Man City" failed to seriously resist London's "Chelsea". For the first time after a widely publicized conflict at the World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, once on the same barricade, led their club to victory against "Fulham" with a shameful score of 5-1. The winner of the match was clear within the first 20 minutes. The first goal was scored by the Frenchman Louis Saha after a precise pass from Ryan Giggs, and less than a third of the way through the half, "Fulham" defender Ian Pearce doubled the score with an own goal, trying to clear the ball but instead sending it into his own net. After this cold shower, the Londoners failed to recover - young W. Rooney found the goal in the next attack, and just three minutes later, the demolishing of the first half was finished by C. Ronaldo, who struck from play for the fourth time, defeating goalkeeper Antti Niemi. However, in the 40th minute, the visitors somewhat undeservedly softened the score when Heidar Helguson's shot hit defender Rio Ferdinand and, fooling Edwin van der Sar, ran into the empty goal. Nevertheless, the scene remained the same in the second half, although "Man Utd" let up a bit. W. Rooney scored the second goal for his team in the 64th minute, delivering the final blow to "Fulham". Meanwhile, "Chelsea", defending the champions' title for a second season in a row, beat "Man City" 3-0. The first goal, significantly lightening the mood, was scored in the 11th minute by defender John Terry, after a header from Arjen Robben's penalty kick. Frank Lampard doubled the score in the 26th minute with a distant shot. In the second half, all hopes of the Manchester club to at least snatch a point crumbled when forward Bernardo Corradi received a red card after playing just slightly over the line. The champions capitalized on their numerical advantage - collapsing with a header in the 78th minute, Didier Drogba also marked the victory. Sunday's results: 3 - 0 11' [1 - 0] John Terry 26' [2 - 0] Frank Lampard 78' [3 - 0] Didier Drogba 5 - 1 7' [1 - 0] Louis Saha 14' [2 - 0] Ian Pearce (own goal) 15' [3 - 0] Wayne Rooney 19' [4 - 0] Cristiano Ronaldo 40' [4 - 1] Rio Ferdinand (own goal) 64' [5 - 1] Wayne Rooney
