Two defenders - Norwegian and English Jamie Carragher - will not be able to play for about two weeks due to injuries suffered in the first round of the English Premier League match against Sheffield United.

The 25-year-old left-back J.A.Riise and the 28-year-old center-back J.Carragher suffered injuries in the first half of the 1-1 draw with Sheffield United.

The defenders will definitely miss the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round match against Haifa's Maccabi in Kiev on Tuesday. Remember, the English team won the first leg 2-1 at Anfield.

Liverpool defenders will also miss the second round of the English Premier League match against West Ham in London and their national teams' European Championship qualification matches, but should be back to play in the Liverpool derby against Everton on September 9.
