Seventh-placed NFKA in the A League will have to cope without their Ukrainian center-back Sergėjus Galiūzas until the end of the season. On Tuesday, specialists in Kaunas determined that the Ukrainian had a knee ligament injury.
According to doctors, the defender will most likely have to sit out for about three months. Although a faster recovery is possible, it is unlikely that the player will appear in the ranks of "Šiauliai" again this season.
This is not the only bad news in the camp of the people of Šiauliai. Doctors examined the previously operated leg of another foreign player, Vadimas Tarasovas, and advised him not to train for the next couple of weeks.
Tarasov can be considered an unsuccessful purchase for "Šiauliai". In the first official match of the season, the LFF Cup duel with "FBK Kaunas", the forward suffered an injury, which kept him out of the game for a long time and he only returned to the pitch in the last round of the previous A League against "Šilutė". In the middle of the second half after coming on as a substitute, the Ukrainian received a red card just three minutes later, forcing his team to play with ten. However, as it turned out later, this did not stop the people of Šiauliai and they celebrated a 2-1 victory.
