As a free agent, Belgian Philippe Leonardo, who represented Liege's Standard last season, joined the team. The former left-back signed a 2-year contract with the Rotterdam team.
The team also welcomed right-back Dwight Tiendalli, who previously played for another Dutch club.
The promising 20-year-old defender, who joined the team for an estimated one and a half million euros, signed a four-year contract.
Currently, Rotterdam club is actively looking for replacements for the departed forwards Solomon Kalou and Dirk Kuyt.
There have already been reports in the press that the team is aiming to acquire Julio Cruz, who represents Munich and Milan.
