On Friday, two matches of the NFKA "A Lyga" 25th round were played, in which the favorites defeated the championship underdogs as visitors. However, the victories were different: "Žalgiris" convincingly beat "Nevėžis", while "Ekranas" secured only a minimal victory against "Šilutė".
Kėdainiai's "Nevėžis" made the "green-whites" nervous, as they led after Rolandas Slepakovas' goal in the 33rd minute until the 56th minute, when Tadas Labukas equalized the score. Ten minutes later, the visitors were led forward by "Žalgiris" newcomer Julian Bursukas.
Although in the 75th minute another "Žalgiris" newcomer Anatolijus Ostapas received his second yellow card, "Žalgiris" did not falter and sealed the victory in the last ten minutes: T. Labukas scored for the second time in the 80th minute, and at the end of the match, Eimantas Poderis scored the fourth goal.
The match in Šilutė unfolded differently, where "Ekranas" celebrated a victory over the absolute championship underdog "Šilutė" thanks to a goal by Latvian legionnaire Ruslans Michalčuks in the 32nd minute.
