On Saturday in Klaipėda, the NFKA "Star Day" took place. The main highlight of the celebration was a match between Lithuanians and legionnaires competing in the "A League". In a thrilling duel, the Lithuanians emerged victorious with a score of 3-2.
The Lithuanians took the lead after a precise penalty kick by Marius Bezykornovas, earned by his teammate from Kėdainiai's "Nevėžis", Vitalis Stankevičius. Later on, after a pass from the legionnaire Ruslan Michalčiukas from the center of the penalty area, the Brazilian Muller from "Vilnius" scored to equalize.
Another legionnaire from "Vilnius", Paulinho, put the legionnaires ahead with a beautiful shot. Despite the friendly atmosphere prevailing during the match, the Lithuanians did not want to lose and as the match was approaching its end, V.Stankevičius leveled the score with a header after a corner kick, having just rested on the reserve players' bench for a while before returning to the pitch.
Just when it seemed that the match, like last year, would end in a draw, the victory for the Lithuanians was secured by the goalkeeper of Vilnius "Žalgiris", Virmantas Lemežis, with a powerful long-range shot.
