During this summer, Real Madrid does not intend to buy Michael Owen. The president of the royal club, Florentino Perez, was willing to pay 25 million euros for the forward, but Owen's poor form this season ruined Madrid's plans.
A representative of "Real Madrid" told the newspaper "The Sun": We definitely will not buy Owen. How could we possibly remove Raul or Ronaldo from the main lineup because of Michael? Owen could only be a substitute, but Perez is not willing to pay such a large sum of money for a replacement.
"Perez promised to bring a star to Madrid every summer, but it definitely won't be Michael Owen," added the representative.
