On Sunday, the remaining five matches of the French football championship "Ligue 1" fourth round were played, after which the "Marseille" club rose to the first position after winning their third consecutive victory.

This time, the players of Marseille hosted the so far undefeated "Le Mans" club at their stadium and defeated them with a score of 2-0. The first goal of the match was scored in the 70th minute by Habib Bamogo. Just ten minutes later, Marseille was awarded a penalty kick, which Mamadou Niang successfully converted, securing their team's victory.

Currently, Marseille is in first place in the standings with three wins and ten points after four matches, leading the defending champions, "Lyon," who have the same number of points but with a better goal difference.

In this round, the "Monaco" club also secured their first victory of this year's championship, defeating the newcomer "Sedan" at home with a score of 2-1. Mohamed Kallon scored the opening goal for the principality's team in the 32nd minute, and Francois Modesto doubled the lead just before half-time in the 44th minute. "Sedan" managed to reduce the gap only at the very end of the match when Mansour Boutabout scored a consolation goal for their team in the 83rd minute.

The "Rennes" club, which has been struggling without their leaders this off-season, continued their poor performance. The team from Rennes managed to earn only one point in the first three rounds and suffered a hopeless 3-1 defeat to "Valenciennes," who secured their first victory in this match. Despite taking the lead with a precise strike from Jimmy Briand in the 23rd minute, "Rennes" later conceded three unanswered goals to "Valenciennes" and suffered a deserved defeat.

On Sunday, the newly promoted "Nancy" secured their third victory in four matches in "Ligue 1" since returning last year. This time, the winners of last season's League Cup narrowly defeated the "Auxerre" footballers at home with a minimum score of 1-0. Benjamin Gavanon scored the only goal of the match in the 74th minute.
