As European champions announced on Tuesday, Madrid club allowed Uruguayan national team midfielder Pablo Garcia to spend a season on loan at Celta Vigo.
The 29-year-old P. Garcia left Osasuna in July 2005 and moved to Real for 4.5 million euros, while at the same time the "royal" club acquired Carlos Diogo from River Plate. Last week, C. Diogo was loaned to Zaragoza.
Wearing the Real Madrid shirt, Garcia played 22 league matches, but with the arrival of new coach Fabio Capello and his new signings Emerson and Mahamadou Diarra, there was an excess of midfielders in the club, which is why P. Garcia was loaned to Celta.
Denmark national team midfielder Thomas Gravesen will likely join Scottish champions Celtic, while the injury-prone Jonathan Woodgate will spend the entire season on loan at one of the English Premier League clubs, and defender Ivan Helguera is linked with a move to Valencia.
