Former Italian national team striker Christian Vieri, who recently terminated his contract with Genoa's Sampdoria at the end of his career, has decided to represent the Bergamo club.

"Atalanta" returning to "Serie A" officially confirmed on Tuesday evening the smooth talks that had been going on for a while - the experienced player, who played in Bergamo a decade ago, signed a one-year contract. Although the financial contract details are not disclosed, it is believed that the footballer agreed to play for a minimum salary of about 1.5 thousand euros per month.

In July, 33-year-old C. Vieri had agreed to play for the "Sampdoria" team, but did not start training with the team. Rumors circulated that the player, who in recent years had also played briefly for "Milan" and "Monaco", could even end his career.

But the player himself denied such speculations and offered his services to the Turin "Juventus" relegated to "Serie B", but the latter showed no interest in the former star of the team. C. Vieri, who during his career has also represented clubs such as "Torino", "Pisa", "Ravenna", "Venezia", Madrid's "Atletico", Rome's "Lazio", Milan's "Inter", will join his new team mates fully recovered from a knee injury.

Meanwhile, other Italian clubs are also active - it is reported that the capital's "Roma" has finally found a new striker and agreed to borrow Montenegrin Mirko Vucinic from "Lecce" for 3.5 million euros with an option to buy half of his rights after the season. With both clubs agreeing, Vucinic is expected to sign a five-year contract on Wednesday.

The club already has a new player, having acquired midfielder Paul Constantin Codrea from "Palermo" and strengthening with an experienced defender who was a free agent after his contract with "Ascoli" expired.
