Unsuccessfully starting the new season of the French "Ligue 1" championship team is strengthening - club officials announced on Tuesday that the team has been supplemented by the French national team defender.

Having spent last season at "Lyon" and winning the "Ligue 1" champion title with them, Pedretti signed a three-year contract with his new team.

"We have reached an agreement with "Lyon" and Pedretti has signed a three-year contract with our team," - announced the official press release from "Auxerre."

The 25-year-old defender started his career at the "Sochaux" club, whose coach is now Jean Fernandez, currently coaching "Auxerre." Later, Pedretti moved with the coach to "Marseille," and last summer became the first purchase of "Lyon" coach Gerardo Houllier at Stade Gerland stadium.

However, the defender failed to establish himself in the powerful "Lyon" team and spent most of last season on the substitute bench, thus losing his place in the French national team.
