The club will soon be joined by another newcomer - 28-year-old defender Lucas Neillas, who will cost approximately 2 million pounds to Rafael Benitez's team.
The successful Australian national team representative at the World Cup, a football player capable of playing in all defender positions, recently rejected a new contract offered by Blackburn and is likely to sign a contract with the Liverpool team on Thursday.
"They made an offer that L. Neillas refused - he is not going to sign a new contract with Blackburn," - said the player's agent Peter Harrison.
"He has enjoyed his time here, he loves the club and the fans, but he feels it's time for a change."
If this transfer goes through, Blackburn will try to acquire defender Danny Mills.
