On Wednesday evening, the Lithuanian national team "All Stars" was sent off to the 2008 European Championship qualifying matches against world champion Italy in Naples on Saturday. The event, attended by all team players and managers, also featured the team's sponsors, the new team uniforms, the captain, and a press conference.

Opening the event, Liutauras Varanavičius, the president of the Lithuanian Football Federation, expressed his pleasure with the new sponsors and upcoming exciting matches: "It's great that everyone is ready. The group is really interesting, and we are looking forward to true football celebrations and exciting trips."

Next year, the long-time football partner of the Lithuanian national team will continue to be "Ūkio bankas," with the addition of the mobile phone company "Omnitel" and the beer manufacturer "Carlsberg," which provided 600,000 litas in support to the team, with the possibility of an increase to 1 million litas depending on the results.

The brewers wished success to the Lithuanian team - "Carlsberg" general director Rolandas Viršilas, who signed a sponsorship agreement with L.Varanavičius, presented a large key to the team's head coach Algimantas Liubinskas, symbolically "opening the way to success."

The new uniforms from the company "Saller" were also presented - various red and white sportswear with a knight logo, and the team jerseys for the matches - on the field in Italy, the Lithuanian footballers will run out wearing the usual colors of green and yellow jerseys.

The team manager A.Liubinskas, aware of the very difficult task awaiting the team in the qualifying group, spoke cautiously and did not promise victories: "Of course, everyone wants victories regardless of the possibilities. We all want victories, every player does. We will strive to achieve positive results, but there are always difficult moments. Last year we started powerfully, but maybe lacked experience and mastery at the end."

"The team is still young, it is maturing, there are positive and good ambitions. Despite what may sometimes be said, the atmosphere in the team is really good, all players know what they want. I promise only one thing - there will be no matches where we will not fight and give our all. May God help us, and we will help ourselves by trying and fighting," said the strategist.
