After a long period of uncertainty on Thursday afternoon, LNK released a statement announcing that they will broadcast live the matches of the selection for the 2008 European Championship against the World Champions, the Italian footballers.
On Saturday night, LNK will broadcast live from Naples the start of the Lithuanian national football team in the 2008 European Championship qualification matches. The match against the Italian national team will be broadcasted live on Saturday night at 21:45.
The qualification matches for the 2008 European Championship against the world champion Italy will be commented on by LNK sports news presenter Tomas Langvinis and sports journalist Aurimas Budraitis.
These are historical matches, Lithuania will play against the strongest football team on the planet, we will see the brightest football stars. Hopefully, Lithuanian sports fans, disappointed with basketball, will find comfort in watching top-level football. Our national team footballers flew to Italy promising to give their all and strive for victories," said T. Langvinis.
As already announced, LNK and the Lithuanian Football Federation have signed an agreement to broadcast the Lithuanian national football team's 2008 European Football Championship qualification matches. Over one and a half years, viewers will see twelve matches in which the Lithuanian team will compete against the footballers from Italy, France, Ukraine, Scotland, Georgia, and the Faroe Islands.
On September 6th, LNK will broadcast live from Kaunas the match between the Lithuanian and Scottish national football teams.
