Italian champion club Milano has rented Argentine defender Mariano Gonzalez from "Palermo" for one season. In addition, the club extended the contract with defender Nicolas Burdisso.

Argentine playing as a left-back will replace Kily Gonzalez, who has returned to his native South America.

The 25-year-old player helped his national team win the gold at the Athens Olympic Games and in 2004, after leaving Santander's "Racing" club, he moved to Sicily and scored six goals in 71 matches for "Palermo".

Meanwhile, defender Nicolas Burdisso will wear the "Inter" team's jersey until 2009, as he extended his contract with the club for another two years.

The 25-year-old defender, who participated in the World Cup in Germany, transferred from "Boca Juniors" in Buenos Aires to one of the most powerful Italian teams for a sum of 3.5 million euros in 2004.

The acquisition of M.Gonzalez means that the "Inter" team has as many as 15 South American representatives in its main team.
