In Rotterdam on Thursday evening, from one of their fiercest competitors, Feyenoord acquired the Greek national team forward Angelos Charisteas.
According to Dutch media, the Rotterdam club will pay around 2.5 million euros for the player.
The 26-year-old Greek, who scored the winning goal in the final of the 2004 European Championship against Portugal, has signed a three-year contract with Feyenoord.
The striker, who plays well with his head, moved to Amsterdam in January 2005 from Werder Bremen and scored 10 goals in 31 Dutch league matches.
It is interesting to note that A. Charisteas became the first player in 14 years that Feyenoord acquired from Ajax.
