On Thursday evening, Spain announced that they acquired the center-back Pascal Cygan from London.
The 32-year-old defender, who arrived in London from Lille in 2002, will sign a two-year contract with the Spanish club immediately after passing a medical examination.
It is believed that the "Yellow Submarines" will pay around two million pounds for the Frenchman.
P. Cygan has become the second player from Arsenal to join Villarreal this summer. Earlier, Robert Pires moved to the Spanish club, currently recovering from a serious cruciate ligament injury.
