After a sensational 1-1 draw in the qualification match for the 2008 European Championship in Italy against the World Champions, the head coach of the Lithuanian national team, Algimantas Liubinskas, was pleased.
"For us, this result, playing against the strongest team in the world, is good," said the strategist. "I am pleased with the men's game."
The coach also added that the team does not intend to stop at this achievement.
"The fact that we are in the group of 'mortals' and many consider us weak - is only to our advantage," said A. Liubinskas. "The players did not spare their strength in today's match, but that does not mean we will lack it in the duel with the Scots. A good start inspires further matches."
The Lithuanian national team plane should land at Vilnius airport around 4.30-5.00 am (Sunday)."
