After the historic match against the world champion Italy, the football portal EuroFootball.com tried to evaluate the performance of the Lithuanian national team in a revamped section, rating it from 1 to 10.

Lithuanian national team - 9.5

Despite everything, Lithuanians once again proved that they are very strong as a team and fulfilled their promise to play selflessly and give their all to earn a historic draw away from home, for which they deserve the highest praise and ratings.

Starting lineup

Žydrūnas Karčemarskas - 9 (Started the match not entirely confidently and sometimes didn't clear the ball well or hesitated to come out for it, but became the hero of the match by fantastically saving one shot after another from the opponents)

Marius Stankevičius - 6 (A few good passes from the flank, but the right-back made mistakes in passing and was unreliable in defense; also often made D.Česnauskis become a defender)

Tomas Žvirgždauskas - 7.5 (Like other defenders, he often had trouble dealing with A.Cassano, but often found himself in the right place at the right time)

Andrius Skerla - 7 (Handled F.Inzaghi well, but left the Italian forward unmarked, allowing him to score)

Rolandas Džiaukštas - 7 (Like M.Stankevičius, did not always perform well in defense, but linked up well with S.Mikoliūnas while attacking on the flank)

Deividas Česnauskis - 6.5 (Not very successful in defending against M.Stankevičius, often had to retreat to defense and, aside from the assist for a goal, was not very noticeable)

Aidas Preikšaitis - 8 (Experienced defender disproved skeptics' predictions and intelligently distributed the ball in the midfield, despite lacking speed he performed well in defense)

Mantas Savėnas - 7.5 (Started the match nervously and made mistakes for a while, but later found his rhythm and not only threatened the opponents' goal, but also played well in the midfield and took good corner kicks with A.Preikšaitis)

Saulius Mikoliūnas - 7 (One of the most active players despite playing in an unfamiliar left-back position; constantly posed a threat to the opponents' defense with his runs, although he did not often contribute to defensive actions)

Tomas Danilevičius - 8.5 (The captain showed a fighting example and was a true leader of the team. He did his job in defense, held the ball well in the midfield, and was dangerous in attack. Undoubtedly deserved the goal he scored flawlessly)

Robertas Poškus - 7 (Started the match actively but later went unnoticed and was marked, however, in the second half he improved and threatened G.Buffon's goal with strong shots)

Substitutes

Tomas Tamošauskas - 6.5 (Did not have much time to shine, but did his job in defense and incredibly saved the team on the goal line)

Mindaugas Kalonas - 6.5 (Replaced M.Savėnas and played well, was active in the midfield and held the ball well)

Tadas Labukas - 6 (Made his debut for the national team without ruining the game and helped earn a few extra seconds of time)

Head coach

Algimantas Liubinskas - 9 (Squeezed out almost everything possible with the young team without some important players. Tactical decisions in defense and attacking strategy worked well, and the substitutions made by the coach were effective)
