Georgian national team and club defender Kakhaber Kaladze has extended his contract with an Italian club and will stay there until 2011.
The 28-year-old defender was linked with a move to London's Chelsea team last summer, but the two clubs failed to agree on the player's price, and eventually, the footballer signed a contract extension with Milan until 2010.
One of the most reliable Italian team defenders in recent years is currently recovering from an injury and says he is delighted that the club offered to extend his contract for another year, until 2011, and finish his career in Milan.
"I am really very happy," Kaladze officially told Milan's website. "I certainly did not expect this, as I am currently injured."
"However, such things happen at Milan club not for the first time, as a new contract under the same conditions was also offered to Filippo Inzaghi."
"For me, this is a very important contract and I am almost certain that I will finish my career in this club."
