23-year-old Scottish national team and club forward James McFadden will have to miss Saturday's derby in the city of Liverpool against the team.

The Scot pulled his hamstring during Wednesday's match against Lithuania in Kaunas. It is likely that he will only miss one game.

"Everton" coach David Moyes had designated a leadership role for J. McFadden in Saturday's match.

The Liverpool and Everton derbies attract a lot of interest and are also known as the Merseyside derby, named after the county where the city of Liverpool is located.

In the match taking place at "Goodison Park," Everton will have something to prove - in their last thirteen derbies, they have only won one (1-0) with the winning goal coming from an Irishman Lee Carsley, who hopes to repeat this success on Saturday.
