The captain of the Greek national team decided to end his career in his country's national team. The former "Leicester City" star decided to leave the Greek national team after being replaced in the last two matches against England and Moldova after halftime.

The footballer now only plays for Salonika's "PAOK", to which he moved from Italy after the season.

About T. Zagorakis's decision, the president of the Greek Football Federation, Vassillis Gagatsis, informed the public through the Greek radio.

The 34-year-old midfielder has already played 118 matches for his national team and in 2004, together with his teammates, unexpectedly became European champions in Portugal. In addition, T. Zagorakis himself was elected the most valuable player of the tournament.

On October 7, Theodoros Zagorakis will play farewell match for the Greek national team. Then in Athens, the Greeks will fight against Norway in the European Championship qualifying matches.
