The club finally signed a contract with former "Liverpool" defender, Swiss Stephane Henchoz. The 32-year-old player returned to "Ewood Park" after a longer break and will play in the team until the end of this season.
S.Henchoz, who was bought by "Blackburn" for £3 million from German club "Hamburger" in 1997, became unemployed after "Wigan" rejected his services last season.
The player represented "Blackburn" for two years and appeared in 82 matches wearing the team's shirts, but then was sold to "Liverpool" for £3.5 million, where he played for six years, and temporarily transferred to "Celtic" in 2005.
The team's head coach Mark Hughes decided to strengthen their defense after Ryan Nelsen suffered an Achilles tendon injury, and Andy Todd became an unreliable player.
However, the experienced Swiss player will not appear in the match against "Sheffield United" on Saturday, as he needs time to improve his physical fitness.
