On Wednesday, the first semi-final matches of the LFF Cup tournament were played. Both games between "Sūduva" and "Atlantas" as well as "Vilnius" and "Ekranas" ended in draws, so the final participants will be completely clear only after the return matches.

In the first semi-final pairing in Marijampolė, the local team "Sūduva" played against the visitors from Klaipėda, "Atlantas". The Marijampolians took the lead after 54 minutes with a goal by Darius Maciulevičius from the penalty spot, but at the end of the match, the visiting Croatian legionnaire Ivo Begič equalized the score.
The match ended 1-1, so the away goal advantage before the return match scheduled for September 27 in the port city was acquired by "Atlantas".
