Legendary oldest coach Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that he has not considered the possibility of ending his impressive career in the near future.
The 64-year-old specialist has been in charge of the "Red Devils" for over two decades. In 2002, the Scotsman, unable to lead the team to the UEFA Champions League, announced his resignation, but later changed his mind.
"End of career? You must be kidding, especially knowing that the alternative is to stay at home with my wife," joked A. Ferguson. "Cathy said that if I retire, he will return to live in Glasgow."
This season started very successfully for "Man Utd" - they won the first four "Premier" league matches and also after a tough battle, they beat Glasgow Celtic 3-2 in their debut Champions League match of the new season. However, the club that has dominated English football for a long time has been unable to rise above second place for the past three seasons and has become a kind of shadow to the newly emerged London team.
"The enthusiasm never disappears in a club like this," the coach affirmed. "I am very lucky to have such a support in difficult times like 'Man Utd'."
The Scotsman took over the reins of the Manchester team in 1986 when the legendary club was second to last in the national championship and was among the favorites to be relegated to a lower division. A disciplined and ambitious strategist, not standing out in any way on the football field, managed to revive the struggling club and finish the season in 11th place.
Later, "Man Utd" trajectory only went up - they became champions of the country eight times, won five Football Association (FA) and Community Shield trophies, won the prestigious Winners' Cups once, and lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy.
