Serbian national team coach Javier Clemente offered help to his former club, which tragically started the Spanish championship.

The former Spanish national team strategist was fired from the Basque club in the summer after a dispute with the team president Fernando Lamikizu. However, the new coach Felix Sarriugarte and the team earned just one point in the first three matches of "La Liga."

After a shameful 1-4 defeat at home against Madrid's Atletico on Sunday, fans demanded F. Lamikizu's resignation.

"If Lamikizu were to call me tomorrow, I would tell him without any problems what is wrong with the team, even though he got rid of me," the coach said to the Spanish radio station "Marca." "If Serbia allowed me, I would help Athletic. Although Sarriugarte is inexperienced, he can get out of the hole. He is very calm, and knowing the level of the club's players, I'm not worried that they could go down."

Last season, J. Clemente made the Basque club, which relies only on players with Basque citizenship and is therefore unique in Europe, a hero - in November, when he took over the club was in deep trouble and fighting for survival in the top league. After Clemente changed the team's game, Athletic finished in 12th place in the standings.

Bilbao Athletic, along with Barcelona and Madrid's Real, are the only Spanish clubs that have never been relegated to a lower division.
