After suffering a defeat in the French League Cup on Wednesday, the head coach of the Toulouse team, Serge Le Dizet, has been relieved of his duties.

Nantes club president Rudi Rousillon announced on Wednesday that 42-year-old S. Le Dizet will be replaced by his assistant George Eo.

"George Eo has replaced Le Dizet. It is time to react to poor results and make a decision that will help us return to our winning ways," said the club president.

Nantes had a tragic start to the season - they did not win a single game in the first six French championship matches and are in second-to-last place, so the elimination from the League Cup was the last straw for R. Rousillon's patience.

G. Eo has been part of the Nantes coaching staff since 1987, and in January 2005, when S. Le Dizet took over the team, he became an assistant coach.

"Eo is a longtime employee of our club. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge," said the president.

G. Eo will make his debut at the Nantes helm on Sunday when the team hosts the league leaders Marseille at home.
