After the humiliating defeat of 3-0 in Šiauliai this year, the head coach of the current leader of the NFKA "A Lyga" team "FBK Kaunas" Eugenijus Riabovas was speechless.
"I haven't analyzed it yet, I am shocked," the strategist said. "I have nothing to say. I can't imagine how the players can play like this - without any fire, without any desire."
"Maybe they think the season is already over?" E.Riabovas asked rhetorically. "I warned them that it's not over yet, and it won't be over soon."
Asked if "Šiauliai" were doing well, the coach of "Kaunas" replied: "When you play poorly, opponents can take advantage of it. Three chances - three goals."
Meanwhile, "Šiauliai" coach Saulius Vertelis said that his team finds it much harder to play against "Nevėžis" or "Šilutė" than against "Kaunas" because they are not under as much psychological pressure.
"Against "Kaunas," the players came onto the field fired up, I saw that even in practice," the coach said. "I want to thank the players who fought well."
"I said earlier that luck had turned away from us, maybe it returned in this match," the coach added. "We scored three goals - "Kaunas" rarely concedes that. It was sort of a celebration."
