French national team and team striker Djibril Cisse should start training next month.
The 24-year-old striker moved from Liverpool to Marseille on a one-year loan deal, but injured his leg while preparing for the World Cup in a friendly match against China, so he has not been able to help his team so far.
Marseille president Pape Diouf believes that D. Cisse will start training in the middle of October and may even take to the field at the end of the month to help his team fight for points in the French league.
This is not the first serious injury for D. Cisse. In October 2004, while still playing for Liverpool, the Frenchman also broke his leg. At that time, the striker's rehabilitation lasted for almost six months.
