During the summer, former Spanish national team forward Fernando Morientes, who left "Liverpool" and moved back to Spain, told journalists that he was happy to leave the rough English football and return to Spain.
The thirty-year-old former striker of Madrid's "Real" scored two goals in two Spanish league matches, and a week ago he scored a hat-trick in a UEFA Champions League match against Piraeus' "Olympiacos".
"I wanted to return to football where I feel comfortable playing," Morientes said to the Spanish newspaper "Sport" on Thursday.
For the former Spanish national team striker, the years spent at "Liverpool" were not successful - in 61 matches he scored only 12 goals, so in July he moved to "Valencia" for about six million euros.
"I didn't like the physical English football and the referees who allow too much and whistle less fouls," the Spaniard said about the English Premier League. "Strikers are not protected from defenders there, so it was really hard for me."
It is expected that Morientes will be in the starting lineup for Valencia in the match against the undefeated in the Spanish championship this year, Barcelona, at the "Camp Nou" stadium.
