Yesterday, the head coach of the Portuguese national team Luiz Felipe Scolaris confirmed the preliminary list of 23 players who will represent the country in this year's European Championship.
The core of the team will consist of players representing Portuguese clubs - there will be a total of sixteen of them. The coach selected six players from the country's strongest clubs: "Porto" and "Benfica."
On Monday, allegations of using banned substances were dismissed for defender Rui Jorge, and Scolaris included him in the team. It is expected that he will be a key player in the team's defense.
