n Madrid, defender Cicinho's season could end soon after it started. Yesterday, in a match of the Spanish championship against "Real Betis," which Madrid's club won 1-0, the footballer suffered a serious knee injury.

After preliminary examinations, it is claimed that the Brazilian tore his anterior cruciate ligaments. The treatment of such an injury usually takes at least six to eight months, so it is unlikely that the defender will appear on the green field this season.

Furthermore, doctors suspect that not only ligaments, but also other parts of the knee may be damaged.

"Real" physician Juan Carlos Hernandez stated that additional tests will be carried out on Sunday, after which a more precise diagnosis and the duration of the rehabilitation period should be clarified.

At the age of 26, Cicinho arrived in the Spanish capital in December 2005 from "Sao Paulo" for around 4 million euros.
