On Sunday evening, two remaining matches of the 7th round of the French football championship "Ligue 1" were played. In an unexpected failure against the tournament's outsider "Nantes", the "Marseille" club, previously level with "Lyon", suffered a setback.

After a particularly poor start to the season, the "Nantes" team, with a change of coach, broke through first when Dimitri Payet scored in the 38th minute. In the second half, in just 4 minutes, "Nantes" doubled their lead through Guillaume Norbert, despite the fact that in the 67th minute, "Nantes" defender Mauro Cetto was sent off the pitch. Even with only ten men remaining, the home team managed to hold on and allowed "Marseille" to only narrow the gap - this was done by Mamadou Niang in the 78th minute.

It's worth noting that this was only the first failure for "Marseille" this season. Meanwhile, "Nantes", who secured their first win of the season, moved up to the 16th position with 6 points after seven rounds.

In another match on Sunday, the "Monaco" club suffered another defeat, their fifth one. This time, the principality team had to admit the superiority of "Lens" with a minimal 1-0 result. The only goal of the match was scored by Jussie Ferreira from the penalty spot in the 5th minute.
