According to the Lithuanian Football Federation, the Lithuanian national team will play friendly matches with the Kuwait national team a few weeks after the 2008 European Championship qualifier against the Faroe Islands team.

The match in the Faroe Islands will take place on October 7, immediately after which the Lithuanians will travel to Frankfurt to train for the match against Kuwait. The Lithuanian national team will travel from Frankfurt to this country. Friendly matches will be played on October 11.

For the preliminary extended list of matches against the Faroe Islands and Kuwait, Lithuania's strategist Algimantas Liubinskas included a total of 33 players, including new faces such as the young goalkeeper of "Sūduva" Saulius Klevinskas, as well as defender Vidas Alunderis who has not played in the team for three years in Poland, and one of the team leaders forward Edgaras Jankauskas who has not played in the team this year due to lingering injuries.
