The head coach of London's team states that Andrei Shevchenko, bought for a record price, will remain in the starting lineup no matter what happens.

At the beginning of the summer, the Ukrainian was bought from the AC Milan team for £30 million and this season still has not shown his full potential. In five matches played in the Premier League, the striker has scored only one goal. Meanwhile, his teammate Didier Drogba's statistics look much more impressive.

However, in an interview given to "The Sun" newspaper, J. Mourinho said that even if Shevchenko does not appear in the Champions League match against Sofia's Levski team, the Ukrainian should not worry about his place in the starting lineup.

"The combination of Didier Drogba and Shevchenko works. Chelsea wins matches, Chelsea scores goals. He is a team player. The day will come when he scores," said the Chelsea manager.

Portuguese also stated that although Shevchenko maintained his confidence, there is only one remedy that can lift the spirit of the former European Player of the Year.

"Sheva is still a world-class player, he does not need to prove it. He knows that I trust him. He knows that even though he did not shine in Saturday's match against the Fulham team, he will play on Wednesday, as I am pleased with his contribution," Mourinho continued.

Portuguese claims that the Ukrainian was pushed into a defensive position only because he plays better with his feet than Drogba.
