Today, "Liverpool" team's plans to build a new stadium with a capacity of 60,000 spectators have taken a step forward. The club received funds from the European Union. The European Union provided 9 million pounds sterling for the regeneration of "Stanley" Park.

"Liverpool" team manager Rick Parry said: "This is another important step towards the new stadium, which we see as a catalyst for everything renewal, in construction."

These funds were granted to the "Liverpool" team after the club guaranteed that they had 180 million pounds sterling needed to build the stadium.

Now the team is aiming to receive 5 million pounds sterling from the Liverpool City Council and 8.9 million pounds sterling from the Northwest Regional Development Agency.

On September 8, the city council approved a 999-year lease agreement for the location where the stadium will be built.

The funds from the European Union will not be spent on the construction of the new stadium, but on plans such as creating shops on the site of the current club stadium.
