Italian national team striker Alberto Gilardino has extended his contract with the Italian club "Milan" and will be represented by them until 2011.
Rumors that the Italian would sign a new contract with the "Milan" team had been circulating for several weeks, despite a slow start in the "Serie A" championship, where A. Gilardino has not yet scored.
The 24-year-old player joined "Milan" in 2005, when he left "Parma" behind, but the club wanted to keep the talented striker at "San Siro" for a longer period than initially agreed in his contract.
A. Gilardino followed in the footsteps of several players who also wanted to tie their future to one of the strongest teams in Italy of all time: Brazilian Kaka, goalkeeper Andrea Pirlo, and newcomer Ricardo Oliveira will defend the "rossoneri" colors for another five years, until 2011.
