Round 6: "Bayer" defeated "Schalke" at home © EuroFootball.com

On Sunday, the struggling Leverkusen "Bayer" club, who started the season with blanks, achieved a significant victory in the Bundesliga by beating the "Schalke" team, considered one of the favorites, at home with a score of 3-1.

Both of these teams played in the middle of the week in the UEFA Cup - "Bayer" managed to eliminate the Swiss team "Sion" and advance to the group stage, while "Schalke" lost to the "Nancy" club and ended their European journey.

The Sunday match between "Bayer" and "Schalke" was started more successfully by the away team, who quickly took the lead at the beginning of the game. However, "Bayer" recovered and responded with three goals, securing the victory for the team, after which the Leverkusen team climbed to the middle of the table. It is worth mentioning that "Bayer" has not lost at home in six consecutive games.

In the other evening duel between "Hertha" and "Stuttgart", a draw of 2-2 was recorded. After the match, the Berlin club remained one of the three teams yet to experience defeat. By earning a point, "Hertha" collected ten points and leveled with five other teams at the top of the table. Interestingly, only three points separate the fourteenth and first places.
