Ratings of Lithuania's national team matches with the Faroe Islands © EuroFootball.com

Continuing the section where Lithuanian national team players are rated after official matches, the football portal EuroFootball.com this time attempts to evaluate the Lithuanian national team's performance in a match that many sports fans did not see [link="http://www.eurofootball.com/index.php?page=news&id=7436"]against the Faroe Islands[/link] with scores ranging from 1 to 10.

Lithuanian national team - 6

Although the team made the game harder for themselves by failing to start the match by storming the opponent's goal and scoring an early goal, and often played ineffectively in the final attacking phase, they nonetheless showed character and secured the deserved victory and important three points.

Starting line-up

Žydrūnas Karčemarskas - 6 (Had little work, but defended his goal reliably when needed.)

Marius Stankevičius - 6 (As usual, he was one of the players with the most possession and did a lot of work making long passes, but often lacked accuracy.)

Andrius Skerla - 6.5 (Had to play most of the time in the opponent's half and although he allowed the opponent to strike dangerously once, he scored the decisive goal at the end of the match.)

Tomas Žvirgždauskas - 6 (Like fellow center-back A.Skerla, he had to start the game more than destroy, so occasionally made mistakes in passing the ball and found himself behind the opponents. However, he usually compensated for the mistakes with resolute defensive actions.)

Gediminas Paulauskas - 6 (The atypical full-back was not comfortable attacking and although he did not make mistakes in defense, his lack of speed did not provide many opportunities on the wing.)

Deividas Česnauskis - 5.5 (The full-back lacked a more aggressive game and passing to the attackers, especially in the first half. In the second half, he was more active after receiving more space, but did not cause many problems to the opponents.)

Darius Miceika - 6 (The young player did not stand out in creating goals, but fought sacrificially for every ball and successfully performed the defensive midfielder duties.)

Mantas Savėnas - 5 (His bland performance as a central midfielder was one of the reasons why the team had to rely mostly on long-range shots in the first half.)

Saulius Mikoliūnas - 5.5 (Was active in attack, but constantly shot unsuccessfully, and could not assist his teammates.)

Tomas Danilevičius - 6 (Practically had no chances in the first half, but at the end of the match created opportunities for his teammates with precise passes, and although he was prevented from scoring himself by dedicated Faroese defense, he contributed to keeping the pressure on the opponent's goals.)

Robertas Poškus - 5 (Lacked sharpness and when in front of goal he wasted good chances.)

Substitutes

(45') Mindaugas Kalonas - 7 (Came on after the break and brought vitality to the team's game, successfully creating corner kicks, one of which led to a goal. He also threatened with shots from outside the penalty area and was only prevented from scoring himself by bad luck.)

(62') Vitalijus Kavaliauskas - 6 (Made a few runs, but was not very noticeable.)

(70') Ričardas Beniušis - 6 (Provided more opportunities in the "second tier" and could have scored once, but did not have enough time to make an impression.)

Head Coach

Algimantas Liubinskas - 6 (Failed to motivate the team for an aggressive game from the start and decided not to strengthen the attack too much, but due to injuries and disqualifications, he practically did not have many options on the bench, as the substitutes were younger players with little international match experience. He improved the situation by making two successful substitutions and adjusting the offensive strategy to rely on high passes - both of these factors helped redirect the match towards a victorious direction.)
