The most productive player of the English Premier League and Liverpool club forward Andrew Johnson won the title of the best player of September, while the best coach became newcomer Reading's strategist Steve Coppellas.

In September, A. Johnson scored four goals and helped the "Reds" continue their undefeated streak, while Reading's debut coach S. Coppellas helped secure two wins against Man City and Sheffield Utd, draw against Man Utd, and earn seven points out of possible nine to rise to the seventh position in the league table.

Having left Crystal Palace for £8.6 million and moved to Everton in the summer, the player has already scored 6 goals, including two against Liverpool in the derby match last month, as well as scoring once each against Wigan and Man City.

The 25-year-old forward is the third Everton player in the history of the club to win the title of the best player of the month. Kevin Campbell and Duncan Ferguson have done it before.

"I was very pleased when I found out that I am the best player of the past month," - the young forward spoke joyfully to the club's official website. - "It's always nice to win something, but I think it's also a huge team effort and their reward."

"We started the season impressively and, although my name is written on the award, I wouldn't have scored those six goals so quickly if the remaining team players hadn't played so well," - Johnson praised his team. - "Any player moving to a new club wants to start the season well, and all the men who are here undoubtedly helped me. They created everything so easily for me, that I had nothing else to do but send the ball into the opponent's goal from a comfortable position, and I hope that we will play just as well and strive for even better results."

Due to a minor calf injury, the forward could not help the English national team in the 2008 European Championship qualification cycle matches against Macedonia and Croatia, but it is believed that the player will be healthy and able to appear in Saturday's Premier League match against Middlesbrough.

Meanwhile, S. Coppellas was surprised by such an award: "I have to admit that this is a real surprise for me. It's a confirmation of what everyone is doing in the club. I receive the prize, but I can assure you that everyone is doing all the work. Winning for a team that climbed to the highest level so early in the season is a reward for all the hard work we did before and at the beginning of the season. I wish it was April or May now, because then it would have more meaning. The whole club can be proud of it."
