In an official statement on the club's website, it is stated that the 26-year-old player suffered an injury in Wednesday's 2008 European Championship qualifying match against Moldova, which Turkey won 5-0. In May of this year, the Turk left "Real Sociedad" club and moved to "Villarreal." In February 2005, the player tore his left knee ligaments and missed a large part of the season due to this injury. "Villarreal" club, which currently occupies the 10th place in the Spanish "Primera" league championship, will face Barcelona's "Espanyol" team at home this Sunday.
