On Saturday, two matches of the 6th round were played in the Italian championship. AC Milan failed to beat their opponents for the fourth time in a row, while Siena defeated their opponents who played with nine players.
Finally, AC Milan managed to score a goal after a three-game break, but it only brought them a point. The Milan club could not beat Sampdoria away. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The hosts, who ended their 17-game winless streak in the previous round, scored the first goal in these matches. Mirko Pieri broke through on the left side of the field and crossed the ball towards the goal, where Emilian Bonazzoli was unmarked. The Italian struck the ball with his head, and AC Milan goalkeeper Dida could only watch the ball fly into the net.
AC Milan managed to equalize, but in controversial circumstances. During a corner kick, Sampdoria defenders played the ball out of the penalty area. However, AC Milan defender Cristian Brocchi found himself there and shot at goal. The ball touched Kakha Kaladze and went into the net. Sampdoria defenders immediately attacked the referee, as in their opinion, the Georgian touched the ball with his left hand.
In the other no less emotional match, Siena continued their good start to the season by defeating Messina 3-1 at home. In this match, three players were sent off the field.
In the 20th minute, the visitors unexpectedly took the lead. Siena defender Christian Molinaro brought down the opponent Christian Rigano in his team's penalty area, and the referee immediately awarded a penalty kick, which C. Rigano converted.
However, just before halftime, Abdoulay Konko managed to equalize, restoring balance in the match. Just after the referee's whistle announcing the end of the half, Messina player Nicolas Cordova received a red card for arguing with the referee.
In the 69th minute, the visitors found themselves in an even more difficult situation, as another player from this team – Carmine Coppola, was sent off the field for throwing the ball towards the referee. The player received his second yellow card and had to leave the field.
However, in the 88th minute, the numerical advantage of the hosts decreased slightly, as Siena defender Vincent Candela was sent off the field for another dispute with the referee. But this seemed to motivate the player of this club to fight, and after two minutes, they reversed the result. Daniele Gastaldello sent a cross ball with Mario Frick's header into the net, scoring his fourth goal of the season.
The hosts managed to score a third goal. Messina goalkeeper Marco Storari saved the ball shot by Erjon Bogdani, but the first to reach it was Siena player Francesco Cozza, who sent the ball into the net. This was Siena's first home win since March 11.
