Today, the head coach of the Spanish national football team, Inaki Saezas, announced the preliminary squad that will represent the country in this year's European Championship in Portugal. The current list includes 24 players, which means that one player will be removed from the list on June 2.

As expected, Saezas did not invite the most effective Spanish league striker, Mista, who helped his team not only win the Spanish championship but also the UEFA Cup. Also not invited is Jose Reyes, who plays for the English champion Arsenal. Instead, the coach chose forwards such as Etxeberria and Luque.

It is worth mentioning that only one player who did not spend a season in Spain was called up to the squad - Fernando Morientes, who spent the season at Monaco.
