The star Steven Gerrard will have to miss Wednesday's UEFA Champions League match in France. The Englishman strained his hamstring in Saturday's "Premier" league match against "Blackburn" (1-1) and had complaints during Monday's training session.
S. Gerrard has already played 349 games in the ranks of "Liverpool", but he will have to wait for his milestone 350th match. The team's coach Rafa Benitez decided not to risk his leader's health and opted to rest him for the weekend English league match against "Manchester United".
"If this were the last match of the season and we really needed S. Gerrard, he would play. But at the moment, it would be too risky. I think in a few days he will be fully ready to play," Benitez said.
