The players of the German club are plagued by injuries one after another - this time the team's Dutch legionnaire defender Nigel de Jong dropped out of the lineup due to knee problems and will miss about four weeks of games.
According to the Bundesliga team "Hamburger" playing in the championship, the 21-year-old Dutchman will undergo knee surgery in Amsterdam on Thursday and will miss Sunday's match against Bayer Leverkusen.
"Hamburger", who has not yet won a single match in the German championship and is in the penultimate position, has lost even 8 key players: defenders Vincent Kompany, Thimotee Atouba, Guy Demel, midfielders Rafael van der Vaart, Bastian Reinhardt, Raphael Wicky, David Jarolim, and striker Benjamin Lauth.
"Of course, this annoys us, but we will deal with this problem," said the team's head coach Thomas Doll.
It is believed that despite their injuries in the 8th round match against Bayer, R. van der Vaart and V. Kompany will still appear.
