"Šiauliai" legionnaire from Ukraine Genadij Ščekotilin's season has already ended. During the NFKA "A Lyga" match against Vilnius "Žalgiris" on Wednesday, in which the Šiauliai team lost 0-2, in the second half, after a collision with the opponent, the goalkeeper was replaced, and after medical examinations it was revealed that the footballer had a lateral knee ligament injury. In the middle of the summer, G.Ščekotilin joined the "Šiauliai" team and immediately established himself in Saulius Vertelis' team, playing 12 matches during which he scored 2 goals - both against Kėdainiai "Nevėžis." However, the Ukrainian only played the full 90 minutes in three matches. G.Ščekotilin is the third "Šiauliai" legionnaire whose season ended prematurely: this year, defender Vadimas Tarasovas suffered two serious injuries, and in August the season ended for defender Sergėjus Galiūzas. With four rounds left until the end of the season, "Šiauliai" are in seventh place with 41 points.
