The first victory of the season was finally achieved by the "Hamburger" team - the port city club defeated Leverkusen "Bayer" team 2-1 away. This was the team's first win not only in the Bundesliga, but also in official matches of this season - so far the club had played 5 draws and suffered 6 defeats.

The injury-riddled "Hamburger" team had to play against "Bayer" without G.Demel, B.Reinhardt, R.Wicky, B.Lauth, N.de Jong, D.Jarolimo, and the disqualified M.Mahdavikia. Meanwhile, V.Kompany and R.van der Vaart, recovered from injuries, returned to the lineup and both started the match in the starting lineup.

Although the "Hamburger" team started the match more actively and had several chances to score, the first goal was scored by the "Bayer" players, with A.Voronin scoring a precise close-range shot. With twenty minutes left to play, the visitors managed to equalize the score when J.P.Guerrero, who had been on the field for less than a minute, scored after a pass from Piotr Trochowski.

Fifteen minutes later, the same J.P.Guerrero scored the winning goal for the club, successfully redirecting a cross from J.P.Sorin into the goal of J.Butt. After this match, "Bayer" and "Hamburger" remained at the bottom of the table, sharing the thirteenth position.

In the match on the following Sunday, the two teams that had not yet lost in the league, "Eintracht" and "Nurnberg," faced each other. After this match, both clubs remained without a loss, and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

The hosts "Eintracht" took the lead in the 4th minute - the referee awarded a penalty kick for handball by Jan Polak in the penalty area, and Ioannis Amanatidis successfully converted it to put his team in front. Just a minute later, Frankfurt players unsuccessfully played the ball away from the goal, and "Nurnberg" equalized.

At the beginning of the second half, "Nurnberg" took the lead when J.Pinola's penalty kick from 23 meters flew into the goal. "Eintracht" did not give up and responded a few minutes later with a successful penalty kick - A.Streit sent the ball into the far corner of the goal.
