The Dutch footballer and one of the main stars of the Glasgow team Fernando Ricksen accused the team's coach Alex McLeish of not participating in the European Championship for the Dutch team.

In Ricksen's opinion, the fact that McLeish had been playing him in a defensive position during matches this season prevented him from getting into the Dutch national team led by Dick Advocaat.

Former "Rangers" coach Advocaat had previously warned Ricksen that he could only play as a right-back in the national team, as there were enough safeties in the Dutch national team.

Ricksen regrets that in the "Rangers" team he had to play in a position unfamiliar to him and it is not surprising that it blocked his path to Portugal.

"National team coach Advocaat clearly told me what position I could play in the Netherlands, I clearly explained that to McLeish, but he did not listen to me. This season cost me a lot," says the player.

It is believed that this summer the player could be sold to another club.
